Tower Business Complex Receives Wagoner County Economic Development Grant

Wagoner County, OK — The Wagoner County Economic Development Board has officially approved a significant grant to support the Wagoner downtown district. This initiative marks a major step forward in fostering economic growth and business expansion in the region. This is the first new downtown construction project in 23 years and comes at a crucial time for the downtown district.

“There is a proverb that reads ‘hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the hope is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.’ I believe this complex answers a call to provide hope and opportunity to this incredible community,” said Rebecca Olson, developer for Tower Business Complex. “Right now, every dollar of this grant is a dollar given back to the community. The development features state of the art, fully furnished, all utilities paid co[1]working and scalable workspace at affordable rates, incorporating a mentorship program such as business and tax planning at no additional cost.”

“One of my favorite quotes is the ‘meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away’ and I could not be more thrilled to see life continuing to be breathed into this project,” Olson added. “I am very grateful for the Lord’s hand over this and for the community support.”

The approved grant of $134, 323.72 passed by almost unanimous support and will fund infrastructure enhancements of workspace and high caliber network infrastructure to accommodate the security and bandwidth demands needed to attract businesses.

The board highlighted the project’s potential to stimulate local commerce and provide long-term economic benefits to the community.

“The Tower Business Complex represents a transformative opportunity for the community of Wagoner. This development, also referred to as ‘Project Spark,’ will not only serve as a hub for business growth but also as a catalyst for attracting new industries and creating quality jobs,” said Chris Leffingwell, chair of the Wagoner County Economic Development Authority. “By investing in this project, we are fostering an environment where innovation and collaboration thrive, ensuring long-term economic vitality for Wagoner County.”

The Tower Business Complex is envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate a variety of businesses, from startups to established enterprises. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and will be expected to accelerate in the coming months.

“I am thrilled to see Rebecca's project, the Tower Business Complex, taking shape. This beacon of hope is poised to provide entrepreneurs and current business owners with the opportunities they need to bring their dreams to life,” Wagoner Mayor Dalton Self said. “I am confident that this will lead to a wave of prosperity for our community. Small businesses are the heart of our community, and any progress they make directly benefits Wagoner and Wagoner County.”
