God created us all...so why not allow our beloved pets a service where they can receive a blessing from God? The Blessing of the Animals Service is held the Sunday closest to the Feast Day of St. Francis...so for us, October 6 at 4pm. The service takes its inspiration from the 13th century Italian Catholic friar who lived a life of voluntary poverty and is known for his love of animals. Francis believed in the ability and duty of all creatures to worship God. We'll gather outside in God's natural home as pet owners and their animals come to receive a special blessing. The service will last about 30 minutes and will include an individual blessing for each animal and owner. All animals must be on a lease or in a cage so that we have no runaways! Tell your neighbors, coworkers, family and friends about this wonderful opportunity to be a part of thanking God for our pets!
